đŸŒ»Sunflowers, Snakes, and Cannon Beach

Hello, LO! 👋

Welcome to the second edition of LO Flow - thanks for giving us a try, and kudos to you for being open to new things. Now, let’s dive into the latest.

Lake Oswego city council is in favor of reducing speed limits on all residential and neighborhood collector streets to 20 mph. Although crash data on residential streets is limited, some parts of the city lack pedestrian infrastructure that help keep walkers, runners, bikers, and kiddos safe.

As a parent of young kids, I love a slow moving car on my block. But as a taxpayer and driver with a little bit of lead in my foot, $150K to redo all of the speed limit signs for a 5 mph reduction has me feeling conflicted.

So rev your opinion engines here and weigh in. Are you team slowpokes or team need for speed?

Also, if you’re finding value in LO Flow, please share this with a friend (or three) so we can build this community! And if you’re interested in advertising your business in LO Flow, or know someone who might be, click here.

Party in the Park (Town Center Park, Wilsonville, 5-8pm). Food trucks, face painting, live music, and duck races. I’m not 100% sure what a duck race is — land or water event? Rubber duckies or feathered friends? If you know, fill me in.

Tree Protection Plans and Code Violations (Lake Oswego City Hall, 5-6:30pm). If tree protection is up your alley (I see you, fellow introverts), learn about the city’s tree protection codes and what happens if you break the rules and get busted. An arborist will also be on-hand for any burning tree questions. Space is limited for 30 people so make sure you preregister.

The Lakeside 🏡

House of the week

1308 Northshore Road | 4 beds, 3.5 baths | 4,194 sq ft

Price: $4,999,999 💾

Details: If you like white, columns, and carrara, she is your gal. This house is a beautiful blank slate. Tons of room for a buyer to insert their energy and personality.

I also laughed at the price on this one. Yes, there is the psychological idea of pricing just under a breakpoint. I don’t know if trying to create a perceived “good deal” actually creates value with buyers who can afford a $5M house. Real estate agents — would love your hot takes.

Book: Rejection Proof by Jia Jiang

Guy trades in his corporate life for entrepreneurship and realizes his fear of rejection is negatively impacting his trajectory. To solve this, he goes on a 100-day mission where he purposely seeks out rejection through increasingly ridiculous requests to strangers. The Petco haircut had me seriously laughing.
